1. Representing companies
Having selected a panel of manufacturers/weavers/convertors with great care, I have developed an original and innovative collection of fabrics and coverings for seating which, amongst other objectives, meets the price concerns of the various distribution channels involved.
Today, I am in a position to satisfy the most diverse and challenging product requirements in a variety of sectors and to cope with fluctuation in the level of volumes ordered.
My Principals are :
• Baumann Dekor (Austria) – Jacquard fabrics in Trevira CS® site de Baumann Dekor
• Gierlings-Velpor (Portugal) – Velvets in cotton, viscose and Trevira CS® site de Gierlings-Velpor
• Heinz Friedrich (Germany) – Jacquard fabrics for seating site de Heinz Friedrich
• MP Spa (Italy) – Flame retardant faux leathers site de MP Spa
2. Development of specific products/sourcing
Production of specific products is made possible thanks to an international network made up of manufacturers, dyers, finishers, all reputed for their knowledge, experience and professionalism.
Working out a specification is the first step in this procedure.
Respect for, and control of budgets, time constraints and quality conformity are in the hands of Anthemis (France). Site de Anthemis-international
3. Consulting in colourways and interior design materials, lectures
In all lifespaces, harmony and light are essential contributors to the wellbeing of their occupants, and hence also to improved work-efficiency.
With these aims in mind my role is to ensure a visual balance that respects individual lifestyles.
For as long as I can remember, colours and materials have been a fascination. A 20-year collaboration with Manuel Canovas and his team, working with fabrics from jacquard (Bouboulina) to fantasy velours (Marat, Lahore), in natural, artificial and synthetic materials, has allowed me to develop a sharp and perceptive eye for colour balance and harmony, with clear and bright colours of particular appeal to me.
Additionally, I worked with ENSAD’s Design Section in developing and defining the end-of-term textile project for 5th-year students. This also involved numerous sessions within the college (and at companies) on the subjects of textiles, manufacturing techniques and fabric finishing.
While training at the technical institute FCBA ( Forêt Cellulose Bois Ameublement ) on flame-resistance, given my years of experience, in May 2011 I was invited to participate as a delegate at the symposia organised by the FCBA on the theme of Light and Textiles, which took place during the exhibition “Made in Lights”.
A lifelong passion: from creation to realisation of jacquard and velvet fabrics for some of the best-known French and international editors and designers of home furnishings.
A decisive moment: 25 years on, in response to repeated requests it was an easy decision which led me into advising and working alongside clientele that shares my passion for textiles, materials and colours.
Trusted partners: founded on excellent connections both inside and outside France, as well as widely recognised savoir-faire within the profession I have established a nucleus of partners keen to establish themselves in France, as well as solid referrals abroad.
Products of quality: taking account of developments in the home furnishing and decor markets, I have concentrated in the main on flame-resistant (Trevira CS ©) and outdoor (Dralon ©) products, aimed primarily at the manufacture of seating, furniture, caravans, shipping construction and the hotel business, whilst responding to the demands of architects and editors.
